Join public school families, educators, and staff across the nation in this grassroots effort to celebrate the vital role public education plays in our democracy.

Throughout the week of February 23, we’ll be highlighting ❤️ 50 Reasons We Love Public Schools ❤️, cheering on the greatness of our hometown schools loud and proud for our communities and elected officials. Public schools serve 95% of students in Oklahoma, and their impact reaches far beyond the classroom.

You can join us! | Start by updating your social media profile picture with the #PublicSchoolProud frame and downloading the toolkit that fits you best. Follow your local PLAC and/or OKPLAC for daily action items and shareable content to post on your personal page.

Day at the Capitol | Be sure to join us at the Oklahoma State Capitol on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 9:45 a.m. on the Capitol steps as we stand alongside public education advocates from across the state for a rally, district showcase, and meetings with legislators.

"Public schools in Oklahoma are still last in the region in per pupil funding. That does make a difference to teachers. So we're still trying to retain teachers and get more qualified teachers in the classroom. Teachers want to be successful," Lisa Kramer from the OKPLAC said.
